The Feria de Málaga, also known as the Feria de Agosto, is a summer festival held every August in Málaga, Andalusia. It celebrates the reconquest of the city in 1487. The feria takes place both in the historic centre and at the fairground, offering two distinct atmospheres.

Dates and venues: The feria usually takes place in mid-August, often around 19 August, the date on which Málaga was taken.

Historic centre: The streets are decorated with lights and stalls, with attractions, bars and restaurants.

Fairground: This is where the main attractions, casetas (stalls with food and drink), rides and shows are located.

Casetas:

These are stands where people gather to eat, drink and dance.

Attractions:

Rides for children and adults are available at the fairground.

Entertainment:

Concerts, bullfights and other performances take place during the fair.

Gastronomy:

The feria is an opportunity to sample local specialities such as fried fish, prawns, cold soups and Malaga sweet wine.

Traditional clothing:

Many people wear traditional Andalusian outfits, such as polka dot dresses, manila shawls and hats.

Fireworks:

The feria usually begins with a fireworks display in Malaga's port.
